The most famous Japanese restaurant in Mumbai is definitely Wasabi, located in Taj Mahal hotel in Colaba.
Recognized as one of the Asia's 50 Best Restaurants 2013,
indeed, it's far beyond better than any other Japanese restaurants here in Mumbai.
You can enjoy basic Japanese foods as well as the Japanese foods with some accent of Asian and Indian.
Another good thing is that if you are celebrating a birthday there,
the restaurant will kindly give you a birthday cake! it was a yummy chocolate cake.
In my case....I asked my husband to book Wasabi repeatedly and finally could have been there....!
Whatever the process were, I was very satisfied to have nice dinner anyhow!!lol
I believe women have better list of restaurants
and following their selection will give the partner better outcome....

お誕生日に行くと、ケーキをプレゼントしてもらえます。
初めてムンバイで美味しいケーキ食べました！！！さすが、タージマハルホテル。
（上の写真のケーキではなく、大きなホールケーキをプレゼントしてくれます。写真忘れました・・・。）
わたし、夫にお誕生日ディナーをレストラン指定でリクエストし、「Wasabi予約してーーー」と堂々とねだりましたよ。
「予約した？」と日に日に聞きました （笑）
それでも連れて行ってもらえれば満足なんです。
世の女性の皆さんも、行きたいレストランをねだったほうが、
結果として満足なんじゃないかと思います。
多くの男性は、パートナーの誕生日ディナーを、
「どこにしよう？何もしないとがっかりしするし、好みじゃないところに連れて行っても喜ばないし。」
と困ってるんじゃないかと思ってます。
違いますかね・・・・。いやきっと、少なくとも６０％はこのパターンではないかと私は思ってます・・・。
ともあれ、近所で済ませず中心街のレストランへ出向けば
美味しいものが食べれるんだなー、と思いました。
日本食はここ、Wasabiくらいしか有名店はないですが、洋食はたくさんあるので、
少しずつ開拓します。
